Environmental Information

There is an additional bonus to using Earth Tails bags - they help to reduce dog waste and dog waste bags left behind in our beautiful parks and forests.

Earth Tails bags are not just for urban environments, they help greatly in rural areas too! In rural areas, wildlife like birds and fish can confuse a left behind dog waste bag as food and attempt to consume it. As for the dog waste itself, when left behind, it can pollute the area especially when left behind near streams, rivers, or other bodies of water.

In 1991, dog waste was deemed an environmental pollutant by the Enivronmental Protection Agency (EPA). Not only was it deemed a pollutant, it was put in the same class as oil and toxic waste - YIKES!!

At Earth Tails, we have a concern for the environment and we genuinely hope that our products will help reduce the environmental impact from pet waste.

For some context, there are approximately 7.9 million dogs living in Canada and the average dog creates about 0.75 pounds of waste each day, so, that equates to about 5.9 million pounds of waste each year!

We can each do our part to take care of our community, parks, forest, and our other wildlife friends!
